Esther’s Takes Up the Cause!
Founded by Sue Nebeker, a quilter from Vashon Island, the American Hero Quilt movement is taking hold on Bainbridge Island. Deeply touched by the despair of a young serviceman who returned home from Iraq, Sue has been determined to gift each serviceman or woman who passes through Madigan Army Hospital in Tacoma with a hand-stitched quilt, a gift from the hands and heart.
