Esther's Fabrics is the oldest independent fabric store in Washington state. Esther Fox started the business in 1959, and it has been owned by women from Bainbridge Island ever since. Our goal is to help you make something beautiful. Our knowledgeable staff can help you find the perfect project, help fix what's giving you problems, or help you discover a new craft. We love to introduce people to sewing and craft, and we love to talk about sewing and to see what you have made.
We stock quilting cottons, double gauze, silks, linens, wools, high quality rayons, and a few unique polyester fabrics. We have an extensive selection of buttons and ribbons, and we provide the home dyer with natural botanical dyes and natural fabrics for dyeing. We have cross-stitch and embroidery supplies and kits, kits for the new hand sewist, and beautiful merino wool felt.
Don't know how to sew? We can help with our many classes for kids and adults both in machine sewing and hand sewing, or a one on one lesson. We are also happy to provide custom classes for groups. Just ask!
If we don't have what you are looking for, then please let us know. We are here to provide sewers with a local, friendly, helpful shop that stocks beautiful things from around the world.
Please come see us today and let us help you find something special for your next project.
