Improv Piecing: Building a Small Study with Kathy Dwyer: 6/2 and 6/23 3:30-6:30 pm

Enjoy improv play.  No rulers and few rules.  Kathy Dwyer has been piecing and quilting here on Bainbridge since before rotary cutters were used.  No worries, she has progressed from traditional to wonky to improv.  Let's cut it up!

Session 1

Free cut center pieces and build log cabin style blocks learning curved piecing as you go.  Fabric provided.  Bring a rotary cutter and a free spirit.

Homework

With your own color palette you will create four free cut log cabin style blocks approximately 4-6 inches (not trimmed or squared).

Session 2

Bring your homework pieces and some extra fabric in your palette.  In this session we will lay out your work and design a "small study" with coping (fill pieces).  We will explore finishing options: binding, facing and/or pillow casing.
