Learn how to read a pattern, select fabric, sew a muslin, fit the muslin, and sew your garment.  You will select a pattern with the instructor's approval and trace and cut out the muslin for the pattern and sew it together for fit.  You will learn minor pattern modification, and muslin fitting.  You will then sew your garment.  At the end of this class, you should have the knowledge and confidence to go on to sewing more garments, why not sew a wardrobe?

Instructor:  Susan Skalak

Supplies:

For the first day of class, you will need to bring a pencil, notebook, pins, scissors, Swedish pattern paper, and 3 yards of muslin.

During the first class we will pick out a suitable beginner pattern from a selection of patterns.  The class price includes the pattern price.

Later in the week, you will choose your fabric to make your garment after you have made the muslin and adjusted the muslin and the pattern to fit you.  You will need to choose the fabric and take it home and wash it.

Minimum Class Size:  There must be at least four people signed up for the class for it to proceed.  We will let you know 24 hours in advance if we do not have enough people and will give you an opportunity to sign up for an alternative class.

Cancellations:  You may cancel a class up to 7 days before the class begins.  However, less than 7 days will forfeit their class fee unless we can fill the spot from a waiting list, or you can send a friend.
